Roboter Navel in der Pflege

Navel now operates in nursing homes

As part of a pilot project, Navel is now also being used in nursing homes run by the Evangelische Heimstiftung and Johanniter Seniorenhäuser. Navel’s empathic interaction is intended to provide additional emotional and cognitive stimulation for those in need of care. At the same time, the aim is to relieve the burden on care staff and give them highly intuitive access to additional digital support through Navel.

The pilot project is being scientifically supported by the Technical University of Munich, Hanover Medical School and the Institute for Care and Ageing at the Evangelische Heimstiftung. An interdisciplinary project advisory board of renowned people from the fields of ethics, nursing science, health insurance companies and politics is also advising the project.

As part of the project, Navel’s care application will be continuously developed on the basis of feedback from all those affected. The impact and benefits of the social robot in inpatient care for the elderly will also be examined.
