For our first design prototype, we worked with a wide variety of material manufacturers and service providers. We want to test the possibilities of new materials and manufacturing processes in order to give our social robot not only a beautiful appearance, but also an appealing haptic. In addition, topics such as cleanability, heat dissipation and environmental compatibility are very important.
In the current phase, we work a lot with rapid prototyping methods such as 3D printing and craftsmen from a wide range of different fields, including a tailor or even a hatmaker. The top picture shows our visit to a prototype builder in the material laboratory.
